Language and new thoughts

Being in Korea has given me a new outlook on the English language. The ideas that these wonderful people come up with are always interesting and sometimes entertaining. My students always provide good conversation topics with my friends and fellow teachers after hours, but recently, I had a question asked of me, by my new friend 희운, that i thought was a little different. so take it for whats its worth.

"In Korea, you are very handsome man.................................are you still handsome in Canada?

still not sure how to answer that question. i know what she means and what she was trying to ask but the wording is always worth a story, short or long.
